Building Character or Behavioral Programming – What is Restorative Discipline? – … Building Character- sounds nice, right? That is until you look behind the curtain and whose actually pulling the puppet’s strings.

In Robin Eubank’s book Credentialed to Destroy in the chapter on the real Common Core implementation, she described how everything she has documented pointed to personal values, attitudes, and beliefs being the true new aim of the curriculum. We know that to understand the big picture of what is happening in education, you have to look at the strategies and tactics of those pulling the strings.  What they are doing is designing programs and curriculums that are no longer academic and knowledge based. Study: Liberals Are Unhappy, Angry People – by D. Acheson – … For three decades the researchers at the University of Chicago have conducted the General Social Survey (GSS). Each year the researchers asked a representative sampling of American adults a series of questions including how happy they were. Because the survey covers a broad range of social and political topics researchers are able to segment the respondents by political orientation. The results were consistently clear about the political beliefs of the happiest Americans. For each and every one of those 30 years more political conservatives rated themselves as “very happy” than leftists.

In a 2006 study the Pew Research Center discovered that almost twice as many conservative Republicans said they were “very happy” as leftist Democrats (28% to 47%). In a 2007 Pew study three out of four Republicans (74%) with annual incomes under $50,000 said they were “pretty well satisfied” with their financial condition. But only about half as many Democrats in his income bracket (40%) were as satisfied with their personal finances. So, even “poor” conservatives are significantly happier than “poor” leftists. …

Leftists, in contrast, tend to be more pessimistic and focused on what’s wrong with our society instead of what’s right with it. They have been Harry Reid won’t work with Romneyconditioned to see the glass as half-empty instead of half full. Many leftists believe, as Karl Marx did, that the capitalist system is inherently unfair and morally wrong. People on the far left believe that they and many other people are victims of social and economic injustices. Religious People Much Happier Than Others, New Study Shows – by Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. – … The study found that people who attend religious services on a weekly basis are nearly twice as likely to describe themselves as “very happy” (45%) than people who never attend (28%). …

The study indicated that not only religious service attendance, but self-reported “religiosity” and religious “affiliation” are also linked with happiness levels. Yet of the three indicators, service attendance has the highest correlation to increased happiness. The study showed that higher levels of church attendance “predict higher life satisfaction,” even after accounting for how important religious faith is in people’s lives. – Link to Website

Every society has orders and rules, but not every society has the rule of law – “a government of laws and not of men.” Nor was it easy to achieve even an approximation of the rule of law. It took centuries of struggle – and lives risked and sacrificed – to achieve it in those countries which have some approximation of it today.

To just throw all of that overboard because of mobs, the media or racial demagoguery is staggering.

A generation that jumps to conclusions on the basis of its own emotions, or succumbs to the passions or rhetoric of others, deserves to lose the freedom that depends on the rule of law. Unfortunately, what they say and what they do can lose everyone’s freedom, including the freedom of generations yet unborn.

Your state is not mentioned one time on that oath.  Your whole goal is to protect the United States of America, Constitution and liberties. It is not to be able to provide benefits to your state. That’s where we differ. That is where my conflict with my collogues.

Same-sex civil ceremonies driving NC magistrates from their posts – by Charlie Butts – … So far at least 16 magistrates who perform marriage ceremonies have resigned or retired since court rulings legalized homosexual marriage in North Carolina. Ten of those who left their position did so because conducting same-sex ceremonies would violate their faith.

Teaching God’s Providence in History – by David A. Fisher, Ph.D. – …”History, when rightly written, is but a record of providence; and he who would read history rightly, must read it with his eyes constantly fixed on the hand of God.” This statement of a nineteenth-century historian sums up the responsibility of the Christian teacher of history, for “he who would teach history (or any subject matter) rightly, must teach it with his eyes constantly fixed on the hand of God.”

Such a task must start from a Biblical viewpoint. The French Protestant preacher Massillion wrote, “God, who hides himself in other events reported in our own histories, appears as revealed in [the Bible]; and it is in this Book alone that we must learn to read the histories which men have left us.” The Bible is the only reliable and trustworthy record for interpreting the events of history. It is God’s record, revealing the purpose, character, and actions of God in history. Scripture is the touchstone by which we should analyze and interpret historical data and events. “Scripture never offers an interpretation of facts apart from faith.”

Opposition to Common Core spurs jump in homeschooling – By Perry Chiaramont – he home-schooling boom is getting a new push due to opposition to Common Core, the controversial national education standard that some parents claim is using their children’s public school lessons to push a political agenda, according to critics of the Washington-backed curriculum.

North Carolina, already a home-schooling hotbed, saw a 14 percent rise last year in the number of students being educated at home, according to a report from Heartlander Magazine. Similar increases have been seen in Virginia, California and New York, according to education activists.

THE INDIANA CONNECTION – By Dennis L. Cuddy, Ph.D. – The impression of most Americans regarding Indiana is that it is a rather typical midwestern state. Historically, however, it is much different. The first commune in America was founded in New Harmony, Indiana in 1825 by British Socialist Robert Owen and his son, Robert Dale Owen, with Robert Owen stating: “I am come to this country to introduce an entire new order of society”

In 1829, Robert Dale Owen and others formed the Working-Man’s Party in New York, and its “great object was to get rid of Christianity, and to convert our churches into halls of science.”  This was according to Robert Dale Owen’s partner in the effort, Orestes Brownson, who later converted to Christianity and exposed their earlier plot. Brownson went on to say that “one of the principal movers of the scheme had no mean share in organizing the Smithsonian Institute.”  The Smithsonian Institute was established through the efforts of Robert Dale Owen as an Indiana Congressman.

Poverty causes crime? – By Dennis Prager – One of the first clues that this Columbia-educated, liberal, Democrat, New York Jew had that there was something wrong at the heart of progressive/left-wing thought was when I read and was taught over and over that “poverty causes crime.”

I knew from the first that this was dogma, not truth. … My paternal grandparents were extremely poor immigrants from Russia. … They were considerably poorer than the vast majority of Americans who lived below the poverty line as it existed when I was in college and graduate school. …

People (of any income level) who rob, rape and murder do so because they lack a functioning conscience and moral self-control. It is not material poverty that causes violent crime, but poor character. But the “poverty causes crime” advocates refuse to acknowledge this because such an acknowledgment blames criminals – rather than American society – for poor peoples’ violent crimes.

And that they won’t admit. Because once they do, they will have begun the journey toward affirming conservatism and Judeo-Christian values, both of which are rooted in the belief that values, not economics, determine moral behavior. – Link to Website

Eden, the fall of man, the loss of grace, the coming doomsday-––these are deeply held mythic structures. They are profoundly conservative beliefs. They may even be hard-wired in the brain, for all I know. I certainly don’t want to talk anybody out of them, as I don’t want to talk anybody out of a belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God who rose from the dead. But the reason I don’t want to talk anybody out of these beliefs is that I know that I can’t talk anybody out of them. These are not facts that can be argued. These are issues of faith.

A Note After the Passing of President’s Day (February 19, 2004) – by Jeffry R. Nyquist – Providence: God, conceived of as guiding men as a race and as individuals to ends he has in view for them or as preserving individuals from danger through his prescience, loving care, or intervention.

Once upon a time the United States had a president named George W. who was sometimes suspected of stupidity. It was alleged that George W. dozed during cabinet meetings, rarely read reports and didn’t write his own speeches. According to administration insiders, George W. “was, in general, an illiterate, intellectually incompetent cipher who was propped up in public by his staff.” (See Joseph J. Ellis’s account, The Passionate Sage, p. 69.)

The president so described was George Washington and not George W. Bush. …   

Washington believed in the protecting hand of Providence and he stated this belief in his First Inaugural Address, in which he said “it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official Act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the Universe, who presides in the Councils of Nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect. …” … Is some supernatural agency in charge of history?

In closing, I will outrage the skeptics further by mentioning a dream I experienced 23 years ago. In the dream I saw the future presidents of the United States. Their portraits were lined side by side from left to right. The first in order was Ronald Reagan who had just been elected. The second was George H. W. Bush. The next two faces I did not recognize. An old man was present in the dream and I turned to him. “Where are the others?” I asked, wanting to see the rest of the future presidents. “There are no others,” he replied. “After these the Republic ends.”

I don’t know whether my dream was inspired by a higher power, or whether it occurred after eating a bad pizza. – Link to Website

‘God bless you’ cited in firing of Derry election worker – By HUNTER McGEE – … Ruth Provencal was terminated last month for saying “God bless you” to voters and other forms of “electioneering,” Renee Routhier, chairman of Derry’s Supervisors of the Checklist, said Saturday.

In Friday’s letter, William Donohue, president of the Catholic League, challenges the firing and questions the application of state law, RSA 659:44. The law, which states that “no election officer shall electioneer while in the performance of his duties” is “entirely reasonable,” but the application of it is “entirely unreasonable,” Donohue wrote.

“As president of the nation’s largest Catholic civil rights organization, I would like to know what part of this law was violated by Ms. Provencal?” wrote Donohue, who went on to question if any voter had registered a complaint, and if so, how did Provencal’s remark “influence the voter’s decision?”

Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, said in a Facebook post Thursday that the Muslim prayer service at the National Cathedral is “sad to see” because the church should only open its doors for worship of “the One True God of the Bible.”

Graham, who heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, said, “Tomorrow, the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. – one of the most prominent Episcopal churches in America – will host a Muslim prayer service to Allah.”

“It’s sad to see a church open its doors to the worship of anything other than the One True God of the Bible who sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to earth to save us from our sins,” said Graham. “Jesus was clear when He said, ‘I am the way the truth and the life. Heckler Disrupts Iconic Christian Church’s First-Ever Muslim Prayer Service to Deliver Her Message – By Jason Howerton –  The first Muslim prayer service ever held at Washington National Cathedral was briefly interrupted by a heckler who was apparently displeased that Muslims were worshiping in the iconic Christian church.

She credits God for getting her into the massive church, which was guarded like Fort Knox. Everyone had to go through a checkpoint to make sure they weren’t armed or posed a threat.

“It was a God thing how I got past all that security in the beginning. They never ID’d me, and I had brought my ID with me just in case, and I thought that would be my downfall, being from Michigan, that they would say, ‘What is she doing here?” Weick said. “According to reports, this was a heavy security event. They checked every bag and every person that walked in there. I bet some security people are in big trouble today.”

She said she slipped through unnoticed, first by following a security guard and then by engaging in conversation alongside a woman with press credentials.

GOD Rejects the National Cathedral’s Stand on Gay Marriage? – The National Cathedral in Washington D.C. recently announced that they will begin to celebrate “same-sex weddings.” The previous year, the Episcopal Church which is affiliated with the Cathedral, adapted and approved a ceremonial rite to acknowledge same-sex marriage. The Associated Press reported that they “had been ready to embrace same-sex marriage for some time, though it took a series of recent events and a new leader for the … church to announce.” And the New York Times reported that “three years ago, before there was an officially sanctioned rite, the cathedral held a private wedding ceremony for a gay couple on its staff … said that for gay and lesbian Episcopalian couples who can now be married inside the cathedral is “beyond symbolic.” But what is symbolic in making a mockery of God’s covenant of marriage? Clearly it is indefensible biblically and blasphemous against God.

So did God visit his wrath upon National Cathedral expressing His displeasure with the Episcopal Church for performing a “same sex” wedding ceremony and allowing openly gay clergy? We know from biblical history that God does not like to be mocked.

A father and daughter living off a water tank in the Central Valley report being ripped off eight times –– 2,500 gallons disappeared. That meant no showers –– and no toilet flushing.

Meet the new fascists – and their victims – By David Kupelian – Documents shocking wave of totalitarian attacks in America – … widely denounced as “fascist,” “totalitarian,” “mafia”-like and “gestapo”-like – is not only not unusual in today’s America, it has become a routine and disgraceful part of the normal warp and weft of our daily lives …To understand the answer to that question is to understand the very core of the “civil war” currently engulfing America.

Where and when will this “gay rights” steamroller stop? The end game is not only to bring about the complete acceptance of homosexuality, including same-sex marriage, but also to prohibit and even criminalize open criticism of it, including the quotation of biblical passages disapproving of homosexuality. In other words, total “jamming” of criticism with the force of law.

“Why?” you might ask. “I thought gays just wanted equal rights, and to be free to do what they want in their own bedrooms.” No, they’ve had that for years.

Their campaign will not end until Christians and other traditionalists opposing homosexuality are shut up, discredited and utterly silenced – and all because of a little factor we’ve forgotten about in our cleverness, namely this:

In truth, there is something wrong with homosexuality.

It is immoral, unnatural, perverted, self-destructive – all the negative descriptive terms Western Civilization has applied to it over the centuries.

Homosexual activists fancy their cause as identical to that of blacks during the ’60s Civil Rights Movement. But being black is not a sin. Being of African origin doesn’t involve running away from one’s own conscience, and the author of that conscience – God.

But it is precisely because of this difference that the “gay civil rights” movement is not about changing the laws so homosexuals can have equal opportunity for advancement or access as it was for blacks during the ’60s. Homosexuals already live in freedom, and can reside, work or play virtually anywhere they want. In fact, as a group homosexuals enjoy a higher income level than the general American population.

It’s not about rights. It’s about redefining truth and censoring all criticism so that militant homosexuals can be comfortable in their “lifestyle” without having to be disturbed by reality.

Remember, all of us, homosexuals included, have a conscience – that other-dimensional standard that God has tucked away inside each of us, and which causes us inner conflict when we’re doing the wrong thing. But if we tumble into the grip of dark forces we don’t understand, and then start to defend our obsessions and compulsions, we inevitably come to regard our conscience as an enemy. And although we may be somewhat successful in drowning out that inner warning bell, what happens when this same rejected conscience factor appears in another person and gets too close to us for comfort? We feel threatened.

Therefore, we feel compelled to silence the “voice of conscience” – not just the one inside of us, but the one in other people, which tends to revive our own conscience with which we’re at war. This means we can’t tolerate dissent. We simply can’t stand it. It makes us want to scream.

To the homosexual living in denial, then, even a loving offer of help from, say, a Christian ex-gay ministry or “reparative therapy” counselor (to help overcome homosexual addiction) feels like the most vile, abusive hatred. In fact, it’s real love – which we misinterpret as hatred and “bigotry” simply because it causes us to confront a truth that is not welcome in us. – Link to Website

‘Duck Dynasty’ Star: ‘They Railed Against Me For Giving Them The Truth About Their Sins’ – Benjamin Fearnow – Phil Robertson, star of the popular “Duck Dynasty” television show, defended his controversial comments on homosexuality, giving a church sermon in which he ridiculed media coverage and others “blurring” the lines between “sinners” and homosexuals. …

“They were mad at me,’ he tells the congregation. “You say, ‘Why’d they get mad at you?’ Cause instead of acknowledging their sin, like you had better do, they railed against me for giving them the truth about their sins. Don’t deceive yourselves.”

Robertson’s volume increased as he paraphrased the Corinthians verse of Biblical “sinners.”

Significance of Flag Folding Ceremony – The first fold of our flag is a symbol of life. The second fold is a symbol of our belief in eternal life. The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing our ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of our country to attain peace throughout the world. The 4th fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.

The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the Seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. A Nation Abandoned by God – Pastor John MacArthur – …“People and nations, even the covenant nation Israel can come to a point where they are abandoned by God.  … Now I’m going to say something, you’re going to have to hold on to your seat a little bit.  I’m convinced beyond doubt that in this same sense, God has abandoned America.  …  This is the most graphic and the most detailed and the most comprehensive discussion of what it means for a people, a society to be abandoned by God.  And it perfectly describes the moral chaos in our own nation today. …

Throughout history these calamities continue to even happen and they all fit in the category of God’s judgment of sin.   But there’s this other category of the wrath of abandonment, it is a form of God’s wrath in which He lets go of a society and let’s it catapult full speed without restraint in the direction of its own sinful desires and devices and choices.  …

We’d like to talk about the fact that America was founded on Christian principles and God was at the center of it, and all of that, whatever it might have been in our founding, it’s no longer the way it is and I want to show you how you know that has happened.

Go down to verse 24.  You see in verse 24 the first word “therefore,” this means we’re now going to see a description that connects to what has been said.  If you go back to verse 18, “The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,” and we could stop at that point.  The wrath of God is revealed.  And then it goes on to talk about the wrath of God and the reasons for the wrath of God.  And then in verse 24 it then describes the wrath of God and here’s the description.  “Therefore God gave them over, or God gave them up, in the lust of their hearts to impurity that their bodies might be dishonored among them, for they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator who is blessed forever, amen.  For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions, for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural.  In the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman, burned in their desire toward one another, men with men, committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.  And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind to do the things that are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, envy, full of…or evil full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice, gossip, slander, haters of God, insolent arrogant boastful inventors of evil, disobedient to parents without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful.  And although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, and not only do them, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.” …

The first thing you look for in a society you’re trying to discern whether God has abandoned that society is whether or not that society has gone through a sexual revolution so that illicit sex, adultery, every form of immorality is accepted as normal in that society.  And we’re there.”

Democrats Take First Steps to Shut Down this Website – by Dave Jolly – … thirteen House Democrats are trying to push a new bill, The Hate Crime Reporting Act (HR 3878), that will launch a new investigation into the use of hate language on the internet, mobile phones, television and radio.  When they say mobile phones, they are talking mostly about the social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and others…. That’s an interesting task since the First Amendment says nothing about forbidding hate language.  The First Amendment states:

Why the founding fathers assumed and needed an educated citizenry for a free republic vs. were we are we are going with Common Core and the ideologues. –– Dr. Terrence Moore, author of The Story Killers, gives a compelling case against progressive education. It’s a great follow up to my post about John Dewey and the destructive effect of progressive education in American schools. Just because you believe in climate change and other ideas housed under the progressive name, doesn’t mean you believe in progressive education. Religious Freedom Day

Each year, the President declares January 16th to be Religious Freedom Day, and calls upon Americans to “observe this day through appropriate events and activities in homes, schools, and places of worship.” The day is the anniversary of the passage, in 1786, of the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom.
