Bishops Issue Statement on Religious Liberty – ‘An unjust law cannot be obeyed,’ they state, in face of growing threats to freedom. – by JOAN FRAWLEY DESMOND – Marking a new era of intense church-state friction, the U.S. Catholic bishops issued a hard-hitting statement today that defends the free exercise of religious institutions in the United States and abroad.

In doing so, they oppose any “accommodation” with “unjust” laws and outline plans for prayer and catechetical initiatives designed to strengthen an embattled constitutional right.  –  Link to Website

From 1558 From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church.     –The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles’ Creed.

Miracle boy’ now age 73, recalls visit to paradise – … He was dubbed the “Miracle Boy” in local news reports for his miraculous overnight recovery from one of the era’s most lethal illnesses, he said. At that time, more than 99 percent of bacterial meningitis patents died within 12 hours. …

Supreme Court Rules No Nativity Scene in D.C.

The Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity Scene in the United States’ Capital this Christmas season.

This isn’t for any religious reason. They simply have not been able to find Three Wise Men in the Nation’s Capitol.

Poll: Little love for big gov – By MJ Lee – … a new Gallup poll Monday shows. [An] obvious truth, which is this: that a sacred respect for the constitutional law is the vital principle, the sustaining energy of a free government.

Government is frequently and aptly classed under two descriptions—a government of Force, and a government of Laws; the first is the definition of despotism—the last, of liberty. But how can a government of laws exist when the laws are disrespected and disobeyed? Government supposes control. It is that Power by which individuals in society are kept from doing injury to each other, and are brought to co-operate to a common end. The instruments by which it must act are either the Authority of the laws or Force. If the first be destroyed, the last must be substituted; and where this becomes the ordinary instrument of government, there is an end to liberty!

Those, therefore, who preach doctrines, or set examples which undermine or subvert the authority of the laws, lead us from freedom to slavery; they incapacitate us for a Government of Laws, and consequently prepare the way for one of Force, for mankind must have Government Of One Sort Or Another. There are, indeed, great and urgent cases where the bounds of the Constitution are manifestly transgressed, or its constitutional authorities so exercised as to produce unequivocal oppression on the community, and to render resistance justifiable. But such cases can give no color to the resistance by a comparatively inconsiderable part of a community, of constitutional laws distinguished by no extraordinary features of rigor or oppression, and acquiesced in by the body of the community.

Such a resistance is treason against society, against liberty, against every thing that ought to be dear to a free, enlightened, and prudent people. To tolerate it, were to abandon your most precious interests. Not to subdue it, were to tolerate it. Those who openly or covertly dissuade you from exertions adequate to the occasion are your worst enemies. They treat you either as fools or cowards, too weak to perceive your interest or your duty, or too dastardly to pursue them. They, therefore, merit and will, no doubt, meet your contempt. Catholic seminary enrollment up, but numbers seen as only part of story – By Nancy Frazier O’Brien – In his first months as rector of Theological College in Washington, Father Phillip J. Obama Leaves God Out of Thanksgiving Address (2011) –  President Obama did not include any reference to God during his weekly address titled, “On Thanksgiving, Grateful for the Men and Women Who Defend Our Country.”

His remarks were void of any religious references although Thanksgiving is a holiday traditionally steeped in giving thanks and praise to God. –  Link to Website

Religious Broadcasters’ Study: Social Networks ‘Actively Censoring Christian Viewpoints’ – By Matthew Philbin – If we post this story on Facebook, will the company remove it? According to a new study from the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) and the American Center for Law and Justice, there’s a good chance it will.

Why does a people so inclined to turn to God so readily violate the Tenth Commandment’s prohibition on covetousness and measure themselves in terms of what others have? And then use this sin to justify violating the Eighth Commandment and give government license to steal what others have in order to redistribute?

California passes bill mandating pro-gay teaching in schools, no parent opt-out – by Thaddeus Bakinski – A bill requiring public schools to teach the “historical contributions” of homosexual Americans was approved by the California legislature on Tuesday, July 5. The bill also prohibits any school material or instruction that reflects adversely on homosexuality, bisexuality or transgenderism, and prohibits parents from removing children from classes over offensive material.

The program commenced with children standing in a classroom setting, as they recited the “abbreviated” version of the Pledge, saying: “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, with liberty and justice for all.” The real version of the pledge has the phrase “under God, indivisible” following “one nation.”

ANALYSIS OF SAMPLE FROM ‘MIRACULOUS’ STAIRS IN SANTA FE FOUND UNKNOWN SPECIES OF WOOD – You perhaps have heard of it, the staircase at Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where – according to the literature – nuns who operated a convent there began a novena to Saint Joseph, patron of carpenters and builders, when they needed a way to easily traverse up to the choir loft, which previously had been accessed by ladder. Their dilemma was that there was no room for a stairway as normal stairways go. A flurry of carpenters they consulted had said so.

According to accounts, on the last day of the novena, a gray-haired man came to the convent with a donkey and a tool chest – basically, a saw, a hammer, and a square. He also needed tubs to soak wood. They gave him the job, and he set about the work on July 25, 1873, taking what is now estimated as six to eight months to complete it. A 2009 comparison between public and Catholic school SAT scores show that public school students had an overall average of 496 points on the critical reading portion of the test while Catholic school students scored 533 points on the same portion. Catholic school students outscored their public school counterparts by an average of 23 points.

And America needs prayer. You have heard it before, but I will say it again it bears repeating that American needs to humble itself in pray and to seek Gods face. Nickle and Dimed: Another Example of Socialist Activism in our Classrooms – by Ann-Marie Banfield – … Recently parents of a high school student discovered a book had been assigned to their son in a Personal Finance class.  After reading the book, the parents determined this book was not appropriate reading material for a 16 year old and wasn’t quality material one would expect to find in a Personal Finance class.

They went through the proper channels in an effort to either remove the book or remove parts of the book they found to be the most offensive.  Some of the most offensive parts to the book were: the profanity, references to Jesus and people of faith that readers would find offensive and instructions on how to clear your urine if you use drugs prior to applying for a job.

I think the average person expects a personal finance text to offer students information on banking, insurance, balancing a checkbook and other important financial matters that will face these kids as they move into adulthood.  What we found was, a book written by a social activist being used in  a Personal Finance class in an attempt to change the values, beliefs and attitudes of the students. …

So what are we trying to teach students in Personal Finance?  Instructional value in what?  The author is an avowed Marxist pushing her own Socialist agenda on those who read her books.  Does Personal Finance now equal political indoctrination?  That certainly seems to be the instructional value one would acquire after reading a book from a political activist who has an obvious agenda within her book. … Those who promote Marxism tend to be the ones who don’t appreciate having to live within that utopia. According to a complaint filed against the school earlier this year, school officials demanded Keeton, 24, go through a “remediation” program after she asserted homosexuality is a behavioral choice, not a “state of being” as a professor said.

Make sure history isn’t left in the dust – By Roger Desrosiers –… Knowledge of history and related disciplines is the cornerstone of learning about liberty in a democratic society. Without history, we have little to write about, little to relate to, little that connects our lives with the past and the future.

History is uniquely important in the United States. We’re a country based on principles, not ethnicity or religion. Knowledge of shared civic ideals is what binds us as a nation. As we approach an important election, historians, journalists, think tanks, politicians, and many in the media bemoan the fact that so many citizens lack the understanding of history, geography, economics, and civics needed to make informed choices.

Sadly, the data lend credence to their concerns… Intercollegiate Studies Institute gave more than 2,500 randomly selected Americans a test consisting of 33 straightforward civics questions. More than 70 percent failed; the average grade was a 49… But right here in the cradle of liberty, the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education has postponed making passage of an MCAS test in U.S. history a high school graduation requirement. Salinas 7th Grader Draws U.S. Flag; Teacher Calls It “Offensive” – SALINAS, Calif. – A picture of the stars and stripes is putting the Central Coast back in the national spotlight.  A Salinas family is outraged after a teacher called it offensive. The 13-year-old’s mother, Tracy Hathaway said she doesn’t know why the Gavilan Middle School teacher called the drawing offensive because she won’t tell the family what’s wrong with the picture.  Hathaway wants to know why the teacher praised another student for drawing a picture of President Barack Obama.

“The president is a part of that and if one can be done then the other can be done as well,” said Tracy Hathaway. Tracy Hathaway said an art teacher told her daughter Taryn to stop drawing.  The Hathaways wanted to know why, so they met with the vice principal and art teacher. “We asked her what was offensive, the God Bless America or the flag itself?  There was no answer,” said Hathaway. School Officials in Mass. Town Won’t Let Students Recite Pledge of Allegiance – by Todd Starnes –  When Sean Harrington entered his freshman year at Arlington High School, he noticed something peculiar: There were no American flags in the classrooms, and no one recited the Pledge of Allegiance. So Harrington enlisted the aid of his fellow students, and now, three years later, they have succeeded in getting flags installed in the classrooms. ‘Lose Christianity or face expulsion’ – Georgia student told to read ‘gay’ lit, attend ‘pride parade,’ change beliefs – by Bob Unruh, World NetDaily – A lawsuit against Augusta State University in Georgia alleges school officials essentially gave a graduate student in counseling the choice of giving up her Christian beliefs or being expelled from the graduate program. School officials Mary Jane Anderson-Wiley, Paulette Schenck and Richard Deaner demanded student Jen Keeton, 24, go through a “remediation” program after she asserted homosexuality is a behavioral choice, not a “state of being” as a professor said, according to the complaint. …The remediation program was to include “sensitivity training” on homosexual issues, additional outside study on literature promoting homosexuality and the plan that she attend a “gay pride parade” and report on it. …The lawsuit, filed by attorneys working with the Alliance Defense Fund, asserted the school cannot violate the Constitution by demanding that a person’s beliefs be changed. … State Rep. Pro-family group boycotting Home Depot – Sponsorship of “gay pride” festivals has gotten a major U.S. retailer in hot water with a prominent pro-family group – so much so that the group is asking its supporters to boycott the retailer. After several requests that The Home Depot remain neutral in the debate surrounding the issue of homosexuality, American Family Association has formally announced it has launched a boycott of the national retailer. According to a press release from the pro-family organization, The Home Depot has provided both financial and corporate support to “open displays of homosexual activism” on America’s main streets for several years. AFA says the company’s sponsorship of and participation in numerous “gay pride” parades and festivals has included deliberate exposure of “lascivious displays of sexual conduct” to small children. …  – Link to Website

Tea Parties – Same Song, Second Verse – David Barton –  America’s first Tea Party in 1773 was not an act of wanton lawlessness but rather a deliberate protest against heavy-handed government and excessive taxation. Its leaders took great care to ensure that nothing but tea was thrown overboard – no other items were damaged. The “Indians” even swept the decks of the ships before they left.

Tea Parties occurred not only in Boston but also in numerous other locales. And those who participated were just ordinary citizens expressing their frustration over a government that had refused to listen to them for almost a decade. Their reasonable requests had fallen on deaf ears. Of course, the out-of-touch British claimed that the Tea Parties were lawless and violent, but such was not the case.

Interestingly, in many ways, today’s Tea Parties parallel those of long ago. But rather than protesting a tax on tea, today they are protesting dozens of taxes represented by what they call the Porkulus/Generational Theft Act of 2009 (officially called the “American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act”). For Tea Party members (and for most Americans), that act and the way it was passed epitomizes a broken system whose arrogant leaders often scorn the concerns of the citizens they purport to represent. …

Citizens are angry about the current direction of government. As John Zubly, a member of the Continental Congress in 1775, reminded the British: “My Lord, the Americans are no idiots, and they appear determined not to be slaves. Oppression will make wise men mad.” But does that anger automatically equate to violence? Of course not. It does equate to action, however; but instead of throwing tea overboard, modern Tea Parties are throwing out-of-touch politicians from both parties overboard.

The Tea Parties represent much of what is right in America – citizens reacquainting themselves with the Constitution and holding their elected officials accountable to its standards. Two centuries ago, Daniel Webster could have been talking to today’s Tea Party rallies when he said: “Hold on, my friends, to the Constitution and to the Republic for which it stands. Bias and bigotry in academia – Patrick Buchanan – A decade ago, activist Ron Unz conducted a study of the ethnic and religious composition of the student body at Harvard. Blacks and Hispanics, Unz found, were then being admitted to his alma mater in numbers approaching their share of the population. And who were the most underrepresented Americans at Harvard? Students, Alumni Rally Behind Illinois Professor Fired for Expressing Catholic Beliefs – Faculty and students are rallying behind a University of Illinois professor whom they say was fired simply because of his religious beliefs. Andy Grove: Knowledge Work Isn’t Enough – by Chris Murphy – Intel co-founder Andy Grove doesn’t have all the answers in his Bloomberg column on “How to Make an American Job Before It’s Too Late.” But he makes one opinion clear: The U.S. can’t innovate if it doesn’t also build stuff.

Among many intriguing ideas in the full colum, which you should read, Grove attacks the notion that the U.S. can focus on knowledge work, doing the design and engineering and feeling comfortable leaving the manufacturing to lower-cost countries.

He offers two main reasons. One, that approach just doesn’t create enough jobs. Writes Grove:

Startups are a wonderful thing, but they cannot by themselves increase tech employment. What Americans don’t know about their history – By Valerie Strauss – A new poll gauging American knowledge on a basic question about the nation’s history — “From which country did the United States win its independence?“ — is either good news or bad news, depending on your expectations: Twenty-six percent of those surveyed did not know that the United States achieved its independence from Great Britain, according to the poll, conducted by the nonprofit Marist Institute for Public Opinion.

Six percent named a different country, including France, China, Japan, Mexico and Spain.

Twenty percent said they weren’t sure. …More depressing results — depending on your expectations — were found in a 2007 poll conducted by the U.S. Mint.

It showed that only 7 percent of those surveyed could name the first four Presidents in order: George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.

Thirty percent knew that Jefferson was the third President, 57 percent identified Jefferson as the main author of the Declaration of Independence, and 57 percent knew that Washington led the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Howard Davidowitz: U.S. Economy “Is a Complete Disaster” –  The U.S. economy is in shambles and Americans will continue to see high unemployment and lower living standards in the years to come, Howard Davidowitz tells Henry and Aaron in the accompanying clip.  Davidowitz lays much of the blame for the economy’s woes at the feet of the Obama administration, which he calls “the worst of my lifetime.”

Davidowitz says that the key to Obama’s success is his ability to sell his policies to the public. He can confidently read from a teleprompter and appear competent and in control, when in reality, “it’s one big bag of empty words,” Davidowitz says of Obama’s messages.

Davidowitz contends that the President’s spending, including the health-care bill, is creating massive deficits that will take the U.S. years to dig itself out of.  “He is Mr. Mass Destruction,” Davidowitz says of Obama. “I mean he is a human destroyer. Housing Gloom

48% See Government Today As A Threat to Individual Rights – Nearly half of American Adults see the government today as a threat to individual rights rather than a protector of those rights. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Adults see the government today as a threat to rights. … Most Republicans (74%) and unaffiliateds (51%) consider the government to be a threat to individual rights. Most Democrats (64%) regard the government as a protector of rights.

Additionally, most Americans (52%) say it is more important for the government to protect individual rights than to promote economic growth. Just 31% say promoting economic growth is more important. But again a sizable number (17%) of Adults aren’t sure which is more important.  – Link to Website

The Relentless Effort to Control the News – The Constitution is quite clear: “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press. …”  This treasured principle of freedom is unknown in most of the world and greatly compromised in many nations.  Canada, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Ireland, Slovenia, Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Austria, Sweden, Belgium, Australia, and France all provide subsidies to the press ranging from $7 billion to $35 billion per year.

The Obama administration, and some in Congress, are looking for ways that government might exert more control over free speech, and particularly over the press.

Since 1987, when the Fairness Doctrine was abandoned by the Federal Communications Commission, every Democratic majority in Congress has tried to restore it.  Through its power to license broadcast stations, the FCC, through the Fairness Doctrine, gave the federal government the power to force radio and television stations to air content that countered opinions and points of view the government didn’t like. The sad result of the Fairness Doctrine was a chilling effect on all controversial opinions. Broadcasters simply chose to avoid controversial programming that might invoke an FCC-required Fairness Doctrine response.

A more sophisticated effort is now under way to give government control of the information available to the public. “News” is what newspapers, radio and television, and now the Internet deliver to the public.  “News,” it is argued, is what provides the information needed for a free people to make intelligent public-policy decisions.  Therefore, “news” is a public good, in much the same way that the national defense and highways are public goods.  Consider the reasoning of University of Illinois professor Robert McChesney in a paper prepared for a   Federal Trade Commission workshop:

The starting point for exiting this dead-end street is the recognition that journalism is best understood as increasingly having the attributes of a public good, not a private good.  It is like military defense, physical infrastructure, education, public health, and basic research in that regard.  It is something society requires, and people want, but the market cannot generate in sufficient quantity or quality.  It requires government leadership to exist.  There may be an important role for the private sector, but with public goods the government plays quarterback, or the game never starts.

If it is appropriate for government to pay for national defense and highways, then it must be equally appropriate for government to pay for “news.” This is the logic that prevails in Europe and is being advanced here. … – Link to Website

66% of Voters Are Angry At The Media – Rasmussen Reports – Sixty-six percent (66%) of U.S. voters describe themselves as at least somewhat angry at the media, including 33% who are Very Angry. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 31% say they are not angry at the media, but that includes just nine percent (9%) who say they are not at all angry. It’s important to note, however, that the question did not in any way define media or differentiate between media outlets such as CNN and Fox News. But voters have consistently said in surveys that they believe the national media has a liberal bias and that most reporters try to help the candidates they want to win. …

Unhappiness with the media comes at a time when many government policies are unpopular with a majority of voters and two-thirds (67%) think the news media has too much influence over the actions of government. Sixty-two percent (62%) say what the media thinks is more important to the average member of Congress than what the voters think. Seventy percent (70% of voters are angry at the current policies of the federal government.

The results over the last decade have been dramatic. In 1998, nearly half of Florida’s fourth graders were scoring “below basic” on the NAEP reading test. By 2007, the state had dramatically increased reading  performance, and 70 percent of students scored basic or better on the reading test.

Health Care Law Signals US Empire Decline? – David Murrin Author of the book breaking the code of history – …To understand some of the bit changes we are going through,  I think sometimes long-term history impacts the now and we’re in it like a schism, like two tectonic plates that suddenly shift after a hundred years of energy building up.  And that’s really the end of the Western Christian empire. It’s bigger than the British empire, the American empire. It’s the sum of all the Christian empires for nearly 900 years. And America is the last one.

And when the last one changes and declines, which it’s in, it will be very rapid, it’s the end of the whole system. At the same time the system that rises challenges far quicker as it moves into the vacuum created by the old system, and that’s the East. The surprise will be the rate of that change. And we view the new administration in America as new hope. Wyoming Governor Signs Sovereignty Resolution  – This week, Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal signed House Joint Resolution 2 (HJ0002), claiming “sovereignty on behalf of the State of Wyoming and for its citizens under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government or reserved to the people by the Constitution of the United States.”

Freudenthal, a long-time Democrat, was previously a US attorney for the Clinton administration, and is currently serving his 2nd term as Governor of Wyoming. He endorsed Barack Obama for president and is commonly referred to as one of the most popular governors in the country.

In a memorandum sent to the Wyoming legislature in late January, Freudenthal made clear his position that the federal government has gone beyond the limits of the constitution:

“For decades we have shared increased frustration dealing with the federal government and its agencies. What started out as a leak in the erosion of state prerogative and independence has today turned into a flood. From wolf and grizzly bear management, to gun control, to endless regulation and unfunded mandates – the federal government has become far too powerful and intrusive.”…

Wyoming joins 10 other states that have passed similar resolutions since last year; Alaska, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Tennessee passed theirs in 2009, and Utah, Alabama, and South Carolina have joined Wyoming in passing resolutions this year. TEACHERS WERE WARNED – By Lynn Stuter – There has been a growing controversy — in Rhode Island and across the nation — about the firing of the teachers at Central Falls Highs School. Teachers are in an uproar, the union is “outraged,” the parents are “outraged,” the students are surely “going to be traumatized”  …Systems education, what was implemented in every school nation-wide under Goals 2000, is a system intended specifically to coalesce the sustainable global environment agenda. …In other documents, it is made very clear that America is to become a “service economy.” With manufacturing jobs being outsourced to foreign countries left and right, the majority of the jobs remaining would be in the service sector, such as cleaning toilets, scrubbing floors, changing beds, washing laundry, flipping burgers, repairing cars, stocking shelves, running a cash register, repairing appliances and equipment.

Under such a system, innovation is not an imperative, nor is the goal of education, in public schools, to discipline the mind of the child such that the child has a vast knowledge base on which to draw in articulating a reasoned conclusion as an individual (classical education). Under systems education, it is no longer important that children be able to think and reason; only that they respond appropriately to the given behaviorally oriented prompt or trigger—the Skinnerian operant conditioning technique of punishment and reward used to train animals. …

Teachers were warned but they were so enamored with systems education holding children accountable for the demonstration of the wanted subjective behaviors that they refused to listen. So, is it really anyone’s fault but their own when children fail to demonstrate the wanted behaviors? Is it anyone’s fault but their own that they jumped on the education transformation (a.k.a., systems education) band-wagon when they had no clue what it was really all about beyond what they were told to believe, and did believe?

When people ask me about sending their children to public (i.e., government) schools, I tell them two things,

1. do not put your child in harm’s way; no child is capable of withstanding the brainwashing going on in government schools under systems education; either home school your child or put your child in a private school that does not accept public money;

2. get involved because all really does mean all, and the government fully intends that all children be subjected to systems education; thus the advent of charter schools and public schools in homes (like K-12™) to suck parents into the system.

Systems education has cost the taxpayers billions (if not trillions) of dollars to implement and sustain. In the top-heavy school administrations, full of counselors, psychologists, play-ground monitors, and aides, all seeking to pry into the minds of children, billions more are being wasted. …States are now in financial trouble. When Washington State legislators were asked what they intended to do when systems education became a financial burden on the taxpayers, as it was bound to do, not one legislator had an answer. And not one of them, beyond the Republican Senator who was castigated by his own party for letting the truth be told, has had the courage to do anything to avoid the inevitable.

Parents who tried to tell teachers, administrators and legislators certainly have the right to say “we told you so” but that does not change the bottom-line fact that children are paying the ultimate price, as is our nation and our society as a whole, for the failure to properly educate children for intelligence. –  Link to Website

Teacher wins major victory for God in school – Judge scolds district for trying to scrub America’s Christian heritage – A federal judge in California has handed down a scathing ruling against a school that required one of its teachers to remove signs celebrating the role of God in American history from his classroom walls. As WND reported, math teacher Bradley Johnson had banners hanging in his classroom at Westview High School in San Diego, Calif., for more than 17 years with phrases like “In God We Trust” and “All Men Are Created Equal, They Are Endowed by Their Creator,” only to have the principal order them torn down during the 2007 school year. But Johnson filed a lawsuit alleging the order a violation of his constitutional rights, and the teacher has now been rewarded with a court victory and a powerfully-worded ruling.

“May a school district censor a high school teacher’s expression because it refers to Judeo-Christian views, while allowing other teachers to express views on a number of controversial subjects, including religion and anti-religion?” posited U.S. District Court Judge Roger T. Benitez in his judgement. “On undisputed evidence, this court holds that it may not.”…

“Many school officials exhibit hostility towards our nation’s Christian heritage. Yet, these same officials see no problem in actively promoting atheism or other religions under the guise of cultural diversity and tolerance,” said Thompson, whose firm filed the lawsuit on Johnson’s behalf. “Hopefully, Judge Benitez’s decision will help put an end to this double standard. It is the responsibility of our public schools to educate students on the crucial role Christianity played in our nation’s founding.”

The charge of a double standard was not lost on Judge Benitez. “Fostering diversity,” Benitez ruled, “does not mean bleaching out historical religious expression or mainstream morality. God has a Plan & Now America & the World are in Trouble – by Bill Haymin – … As we have entered this new decade and year, things have obviously and dramatically changed (if we have been paying attention.) We are witnessing what the Scriptures have said about the “Last Days.” The changes have been so swift; that most of us are unable to catch up to what has been happening and assimilate them. We are unable to process those changes and to assimilate and use the prophetic warnings that the Scriptures have said would take place in our day because it´s happening so fast. Just as surely as the Scriptures say there will come a time for all men to die, God also fulfills His word about the end times that no living person or spirit being can change. This brings to mind the valiant efforts of many American patriots in trying to stem the tide of those working feverously to rebuild the world into their beastly image. Revelation 13

Many of us are trying to stop the ominous changes that are happening, by thinking that if we can just get this candidate or that candidate into political office, we can turn America around. There have been many Tea Party groups and political meetings around the country discussing how to do this. Now don´t misunderstand what I´m about to say: It is always in the best interests of the people to keep a diligent and critical eye on those whom we elect to represent “we” the people. It is still our calling as citizens of a once Republic, to stand up for righteousness and try to keep what freedoms we have left. But, in an era long since gone, there was a time that we could have stopped the narrow stream of political, moral and spiritual decay and corruption that our fathers saw coming down like a raging river into our day.

We must realize and come to grips with the reality that we have entered the time of “Jacob´s trouble” that the Scriptures have said would come to pass. We have entered, and are now living in a different day and we can´t continue to rely on men and the institutions that once held secure our freedoms. Many are aware that our country’s leaders are trying to transform this nation into democratic socialism. You already know that one of their main techniques is to indoctrinate school children around the nation into gradually believing Progressive ideology and move away from our great Constitutional heritage. I moved here in the heart of a conservative city and state from California hoping for a better education and environment for my children. However, I was shocked to find out recently that our own Alpine School District has been aligning itself with people who believe that we are NOT a great God-inspired Republic. They are teaching that our Founding Fathers were wrong in establishing a Republic, that the Constitution was set up by wealthy elitists who only wanted gain for themselves and that we should transform our Republic nation into a social and political Democracy by teaching this false doctrine to our children. They even went as far as linking their Mission Statement page with a California Green Party candidate who believes Jesus is a vampire. …

Last week my daughter’s 6th grade history teacher was falsely teaching the class that the United States of America is not a Constitutional Republic but a Democracy even when my daughter corrected him twice. One of his main jobs at the school is to teach the Constitution to all 5th and 6th grade students. He also told her that a book she was reading made up of quotes from our Founding Fathers about the Constitution was “pure science fiction”. Because she was not being challenged in any of her subjects and learning false ideas about our country, we decided to check her out of Alpine School District.  As we walked into the district office, my daughter and I were shocked to be greeted by a huge sign spanning about 30 feet down the hallway in 12 inch high letters that said: “Enculturating the Young into a Social and Political Democracy”  

I immediately wondered why the school district’s motto wasn’t “We Strive for Excellence in Education” or something similar. Nothing about education, only politics. I don’t want the schools teaching my children about politics or enculturating them into any other belief system other than what we teach at home. Marriage Penalty in the U.S. House and Senate Health Care Bills – (Congress works to destroy the institution of marriage through excessive taxes) – “The House and Senate Health Care bills contain a huge marriage penalty for the American middle class.” Allen Quist said today.

 “There is a huge middle class marriage penalty hidden in the House and Senate health care bills. The penalty becomes evident by evaluating questions like the following: How much would two single people, each making $30,000 per year, pay for private health insurance if the Pelosi bill was in effect now? The answer is $1,320 per year for both individuals combined (based on the premium limits and subsidies outlined on the charts below). But how much would they pay for the same level of insurance under the Pelosi bill if they were to marry? Their combined cost would then be about $12,000 a year (the estimated cost for private insurance).

German homeschoolers’ political asylum in America exposes the EU Gulag – The case of the homeschooling couple from Germany who were granted political asylum in the United States, …becomes even more interesting if one reads the remarks of the man who granted the Romeikes asylum, Immigration Judge Lawrence O. Burman, of Memphis, Tennessee.

Burman said: “We can’t expect every country to follow our constitution. The world might be a better place if it did. However, the rights being violated here are basic human rights that no country has a right to violate.” He observed: “Homeschoolers are a particular social group that the German government is trying to suppress. This family has a well-founded fear of persecution… therefore, they are eligible for asylum…” … Those last remarks might have been uttered in 1933. Do we truly realise the significance of what has happened? Do we understand that, as citizens of the European Union, we now belong to a totalitarian state from which fleeing citizens are being granted political asylum in the United States? Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, tyranny is back in business in Germany.

Judge Burman added that the scariest thing about this case was the motivation of the German government. He said that, rather than being concerned with the welfare of the children, it was trying to stamp out parallel societies. Making his court order, the judge voiced concern that, although Germany was a democratic country and an ally, the policy of persecuting homeschoolers was “repellent to everything we believe as Americans”.

Biblically Correct Versus Politically Correct: A Perspective – Respected pastor and author Charles Stanley once said, “We have no obligation before God to be politically correct.  Rather, we have a divine obligation to be Biblically correct – because if we’re Biblically correct, people’s lives will change and we’ll positively impact society.”

This is a hard-hitting statement, especially in a postmodern culture that tends to tiptoe around difficult issues in the name of being “PC” and not “offending” anyone of a different persuasion.  Christians often find themselves in this quandary — many of us have experienced similar situations, whether feeling uncomfortably silent at a dinner party where friends or co-workers railed against the “intolerance” of people of faith, or experiencing waves of nausea when even fellow “Christians” deny the existence of absolute truth and preach that all religions or doctrines are valid in the eyes of a vague God.

The State of the Nation: I am afraid:  By John W. Whitehead – Ominous developments in America have been a long time coming, in part precipitated by “we the people”-a citizenry that has been asleep at the wheel for too long. And while there have been wake-up calls, we have failed to heed the warnings.

Just consider the state of our nation: We’re encased in what some are calling an electronic concentration camp. The government continues to amass data files on more and more Americans. Everywhere we go, we are watched: at the banks, at the grocery store, at the mall, crossing the street. This loss of privacy is symptomatic of the growing surveillance being carried out on average Americans. Such surveillance gradually poisons the soul of a nation, transforming us from one in which we’re presumed innocent until proven guilty to one in which everyone is a suspect and presumed guilty. Thus, the question that must be asked is: can freedom in the United States flourish in an age when the physical movements, individual purchases, conversations and meetings of every citizen are under constant surveillance by private companies and government agencies?

We are metamorphosing into a police state. Governmental tentacles now invade virtually every facet of our lives, with agents of the government listening in on our telephone calls and reading our emails. … We are plagued by a faltering economy and a monstrous financial deficit that threatens to bankrupt us. Our national debt is more than $12 trillion (which translates to more than $110,000 per taxpayer), and is expected to nearly double to $20 trillion by 2015. Our representatives in the White House and Congress bear little resemblance to those they have been elected to represent. Many of our politicians live like kings. Chauffeured around in limousines, flying in private jets and eating gourmet meals, all paid for by the American taxpayer, they are far removed from those they represent. What’s more, they continue to spend money we don’t have on pork-laden stimulus packages while running up a huge deficit and leaving the American taxpayers to foot the bill…

The corporate media, increasingly acting as a mouthpiece for governmental propaganda, no longer serves a primary function as watchdogs, guarding against encroachments of our rights. Instead, much of the mainstream media has given itself over to mindless, celebrity-driven news, which bodes ill for our country. …Americans have largely lost the ability to ask questions and think analytically. Indeed, most citizens have little, if any, knowledge about their rights or how their government even works. Thirty-Seven Years After Roe v. Wade, a Disenfranchised ‘Silent Generation’ – An entire generation of Democrat voters failed to vote in Massachusetts Tuesday night. The same generation of Democrat voters failed to thwart recent GOP victories in New Jersey and Virginia. But no one’s reporting on them. They’re the silent generation.

The Silent Generation is between the favored ages of 18 and 37 years old. There are over 49 million of them, and they make up approximately 15% of the American population, certainly enough to swing any election in any state in any race. Problem is this: they have been denied the right to vote in these elections. That’s because, thanks to Roe v. Wade, which was decieded 37 years ago today, they’re not even here.

Ironically, the ACLU does not concern itself with them. They are never interviewed and are rarely mentioned by Democrat candidates. Majority of Americans, and Nearly 6 in 10 Young Adults, View Abortion as Morally Wrong – On the eve of the 37th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion throughout the United States, a new survey shows a strong majority of Americans believe abortion to be “morally wrong.”

“Millennials” (those 18-29) consider abortion to be “morally wrong” even more (58%) than Baby Boomers (those 45-64) (51%). The True Purpose of Tongues –  Q: What is the true purpose of tongues? A: There are two primary purposes for speaking in tongues. One is to edify the individual believer who exercises the gift of tongues in private devotional time with God. The other is to combat racial and cultural prejudices among different people groups and thus promote Christian unity amongst diverse peoples. I believe this purpose is clearly depicted in the book of Acts.

In Acts 1:8, Jesus commanded his followers to take the gospel to “the ends of the earth.” These first followers were all Jews who didn’t believe non-Jews could become Christians without undergoing Mosaic rites such as circumcision. Unless this conviction was discarded, the gospel could not penetrate the non-Jewish world. When Jesus poured out the Holy Spirit upon Gentiles at Caesarea, tongues accompanied the outpouring just as it did at Pentecost. These tongues were for the sake of the Jewish Christians who didn’t believe Gentiles were eligible to be received into the Church without submitting to Jewish rites. …

The Jewish leaders of the early church accepted Samaritans, Gentiles, and the polyglot society of Ephesus into the church because they heard them speak in tongues just like the one hundred twenty at Pentecost. Tongues were God’s sign that He would not tolerate racism in His family.

History demonstrated this in the 1906 revival at Los Angeles’ Azusa Street. It was no accident that God chose a half-blind African-American pastor to lead the revival. Racism was still rampant in America less than fifty years after the Civil War. When the revival at Azusa Street was launched, powerful demonstrations of God’s presence drew people from all races and walks of life. They worshipped together; they cried together; they laughed together; they were one in Spirit together.

For a short time there was genuine evidence of the equality of people groups within the Christian community. This is the purpose of tongues — to unite the church of Christ. What a shame it is that our erroneous doctrine today has made them a divisive force within the church. –  Link to Website

Idaho GOP gubernatorial candidate Rammell expands on controversial prophecy in YouTube video – Idaho GOP gubernatorial candidate Rex Rammell says saving the U.S. Constitution requires God’s help. Rammell’s thoughts are captured in a nine-minute excerpt from a recent news conference now available on YouTube.  

“America would not exist if it wasn’t for the divine hand of providence in not only intervening to win the Revolutionary War but in writing the inspired words of the Constitution,” Rammell says in the video. “To think that we can save the Constitution without God’s help when the government of the United States is corrupt is absurdity.”

Adds Rammell: “We are in America’s second Revolutionary War to save our freedom, which we paid for with blood. We need God’s help and I’m not ashamed to ask for it.” Rammell says he has invited about 100 Mormon men to a Jan. 19 meeting in Idaho Falls to discuss the “White Horse Prophecy,” which some attribute to Mormon Church founder Joseph Smith.
